Commands

Most of the commands listed here do not need to be entered manually. Instead, they may be entered using a corresponding dialog in the Inxmail Professional Client. Commands are only available in editors.

In Inxmail Professional there are two notations for commands:

  • The default notation is: [%Command].

  • For the special command [inx:replace] and for columns, the introductory % is omitted, e.g. [email], [first name].

Placeholder for character set of the mailing list (Advanced properties)

list-id Insert placeholder for the ID of the current mailing list

list-name

Insert placeholder for the name of a mailing list (Insert system data / commands)

list-name-encoded Insert placeholder for the name of a mailing in an encoded way, so that it is usable within the URL of the data source for external content

list-size

Insert placeholder for the number of recipients of the mailing list (Insert system data / commands)

mailbuildmode

Placeholder for the mode of a mailing. All mailings are supplied with a mode. There are a number of different modes. Different modes will make a mailing or elements of a mailing behave in a different way. Mode 2 (TEST_MAIL), for instance, results in external content not being saved.

mailid

Placeholder for the unique ID of a mailing (View and filter the mailings table)

mailing-name

Insert placeholder for the name of a mailing (Insert system data / commands)

mailing-name-encoded Insert placeholder for the name of a mailing in an encoded way, so that it is usable within the URL of the data source for external content

mailref

Create a reference to a mailing (Insert system data / commands or Inserting links to the alternative view in the Web browser (HTML mailings only))

no-mail

Prevent creation of individual mailings (Creating personalised texts (for target groups))

online_params

Command that determines the online parameters encrypted.

Online Parameters The following parameters are online parameters:

  • ID of the recipient
  • Email address (URL encoded) of the recipient
  • Build mode (distinguishing feature used for test emails and actually sent mailings, among other things)
  • Mailref (an encoding of the mailing ID, transmission ID and list ID)

The online parameters are required when the link to the alternative Web view is called or for the personalisation of dynamic Web pages (JSP), among other things.

Note: You can also use the online_params command for the transfer of the online parameters to third-party systems. Contact your Inxmail contact person to obtain the information for decrypting the online parameters.

online_params_unencrypted

Command that determines the online parameters unencrypted.
