News for transactional emails (Inxmail Commerce)

Create your transactional emails quickly, intuitively and flexibly - in the new mailing editor of the Inxmail platform.

Have you noticed that the different Inxmail products are becoming more and more integrated? They are increasingly forming a single Inxmail platform in which you can manage your entire email marketing.
The new platform mailing editor was previously only available for newsletters and campaigns – now, as a platform customer, you can finally also create your transactional mails with it.
What's new?
As a platform customer, you will soon see a new "Editing" section in your Transactional space with the following navigation items:
-
Mailings: This is where you create your transactional mails - easily and intuitively in the new platform mailing editor.
-
Containers: Containers are like layout templates for your mailing articles. Inxmail provides you with a set of standard containers ready to use. If that’s not enough, you can create your own containers with custom layouts in the container editor.
-
Style sets: You store your corporate design in a style set. You then link the style set to your mailings. This allows you to define and update your colors and fonts across mailings.
-
Media: The Media navigation item is where you store all the images, PDFs, and ICS files for your mailings.
Special features for transactional mails
Transactional mails are naturally somewhat more complex than a simple newsletter. To meet these requirements, we have adapted several functions of the mailing editor specifically for Transactional mails and also adjusted the approval process to the event-based setting.

How do I make my transactional emails accessible or low-barrier?
As we all know, there is no such thing as absolute "accessibility". We would like to give you a few tips on how to make your transactional mails as accessible as possible for all your recipients.
Many people with visual impairment use screen readers that read out mailing content to them. Two points are key here:
-
Alt text and title: We recommend that you add alternative texts and titles for all your images. For example, visually impaired recipients can have the texts read aloud via screen reader. Bots and search engines also like to access the written image information.
-
Heading levels: Headings help you structure your mailings. Different heading levels (h1-h6) ensure different weighting of the content within your mailing and help recipients with screen readers to navigate through your mailing and correctly read your source text. This makes your mailing more accessible (low-barrier).
Further measures:
-
Choose your colors so that the contrasts are sufficient for people with visual impairments to be able to read your text easily.
-
Use sufficiently large font sizes.
-
Write your texts in plain language.

We are renaming the following navigation item in the settings:
-
Previously:
"Brand Identity Protection"
-
New:
Sending domains
The new name is more descriptive and self-explanatory. In terms of content, nothing changes in the way the navigation item works.

We have given the Settings section in Inxmail Commerce a new look and feel. Other parts will follow. All navigation items in the "Settings" section have already been implemented, except Sending domains.
-
In the Tracking section, you can now (de)activate permission-based tracking for specific events in the space settings. You no longer have to switch to the event to do this.
-
The functionality of the other navigation items has not changed. You can find out how everything works in the Settings section.
Have fun exploring!

For legally compliant email marketing (in accordance with the CSA), you must store a List-Help header for transactional emails or a List-Unsubscribe header for mailings with advertising content.
As of March 5, 2024, you can no longer send emails that do not have either a List-Unsubscribe header or List-Help header.
