Containers
What are containers?
Containers are like a layout template for your newsletter articles. You can drag and drop them into your mailing.
In Newsletter & Campaigns the following types of containers are available:
-
Inxmail containers
Ideal for getting started and sufficient for most designs. Insert them directly into your mailing and fill them with your content.
Inxmail containers are the standard containers available by default in "Newsletters & campaigns". The positions for text, image and button elements are already defined. You can insert and edit them directly in your mailing.
To get started, it is best to work with the standard containers - especially if you are using "newsletters & campaigns" for the first time.
Overview of Inxmail containers
You cannot delete Inxmail containers: They are provided by Inxmail. There is no way for you to edit or delete Inxmail containers.
-
Layoutcontainer
Create them if the standard Inxmail containers do not support your design. Define the layout yourself and add your content in the mailing.
Create layout containers yourself in the
Containers navigation item as needed to freely position images and text in your mailing and create complex layouts. As soon as your container is inserted in the mailing, you can fill the text and image elements with your own content.
-
Content container
Create them to save your container content. Re-use containers with content in multiple mailings.
If you use a container in your mailing, you will usually add text and images, style it and personalize it or link it to external content. You can save your populated and styled container as a content container for reuse in other mailings.
Alternatively, you can create a content container directly in the
Container navigation item as a new container.Difference between layout containers and content containers: Use a layout container to design the structure of your mailing. A content container stores both the structure and the content for reuse.
-
Referenced container
Referenced containers behave similarly to content containers. Populate a container in your mailing and design it as needed. You can save your styled container as a referenced content container.
Unlike content containers, you can only edit referenced content containers in the Containers navigation item. If you modify a referenced content container, the changes affect the mailings that use this container type.
