Create dynamic content: Data & fallback (Editing)

Create dynamic content: In steps 2 and 3, you select your data source and attributes or feed settings as well as fallback options.

Step by step

  1. Data source

Select a data source or create a new data source. You will only be able to see data sources that have been approved and match your content type.

  2. Attribute vs. feed article

Depending on your content type, you can work with personalized article data (based on attributes). Or you can work with (non-personalized) feeds.

See below, which content types work with attributes and which work with feed articles.

  3. Click Next.

  4. Fallback

Sometimes your dynamic content cannot be displayed, e.g. because a product is not in stock or because an attribute is missing for your current recipient.

You have different fallback options depending on your content type:

    • Mailing will not be sent: The current recipient will not receive a mailing.

    • Container will be hidden: The affected container will not be displayed for the current recipient. They will still receive your mailing.

    • Fallback product: Enter up to 15 fallback products via product ID in case your preferred product cannot be displayed. Use the fallback products from your data source.

See below, which fallback options are available for which content types:

  5. Click Next.

  • You have selected your data source, including attribute and feed settings, and defined a fallback logic.
