Scenario 3 – Authentication of your sender domain

Please only use scenario 3 as an absolute exception. We do not recommend it.

Important: In scenario 3, you must manually specify many settings yourself. The changes should only be made by experienced IT/mail server administrators. If you set up things incorrectly, you risk damaging your reputation and this will affect the main domain or subdomain you use.

Scenario 3 is useful in the following cases only:

  • You want to use your main domain as a sending domain.

  • You would like to use the main domain or subdomain that you use in the Brand Identity Protection feature, outside of Inxmail Commerce for other purposes.

Prerequisite: You already authenticate your main domain or subdomain via ‘reject’ or ‘quarantine’ DMARC policy (outside of Inxmail Commerce). Your domain is not protected when you set the DMARC policy to ‘none’.

Note: To protect your main domain from loss of reputation, we recommend using a subdomain as a sending domain. To do so, we recommend implementing either scenario 1 or scenario 2.

Step by step

  1. Open the Brand Identity Protection feature in Settings.

  2. Select the Improved deliverability option.

  3. In the Sender domain (From) input field, enter the domain that you want to use as the sender domain in Inxmail Commerce.

  4. We recommend entering your own bounce domain in the Bounce domain (Return-Path) input field. This way you attain a , and you can avoid having Inxmail sender domains such as inxserver.com or inxserver.de shown in the technical email header.

The bounce domain needs to be a subdomain of your authenicated main domain.

  5. Click Authenticate domain.

You will be directed to the Domain authentication page.

  6. Optional: Store your BIMI logo.

  7. Store your DNS entries with your domain host.

  8. Store the subdomain in the mailing settings in Inxmail Commerce and in the mail relay source systems. You need to adjust the mailing settings in all mailings if you want the settings from the Brand Identity Protection feature to be active for all mailings.

  • You have authenticated your domain in thd Brand Identity Protection feature and enabled it for your mailings .
