Configure import automation
Specify how your import file is formatted and assign the e-mail column as a unique identifier.
Step by step
-
Go to the navigation point
"Import-Automation" > Workflow step "Configuration" .
-
Column assignment
Assign the two most important columns:
-
email: Enter the name of the column in your import file that contains the email address of your recipients. This information is central to Inxmail, as it serves to uniquely identify your recipients.
-
Tracking Permission: Enter the name of the column in your import file that contains the consent for personal tracking so that Inxmail recognizes and processes it correctly. To do this, first activate the switch "The import contains a column for the tracking permission", enter the column name and then the value for "
Yes".As the "Tracking Permission" column is handled as a Boolean in Inxmail, all other values count as "
No".Only for list import: With global import, you cannot map a tracking permission column, as Inxmail only records the tracking permission at list level.
Mapping the other columns: Make sure that your other columns are named the same as the existing columns in Inxmail. Pay attention to upper and lower case as well as spaces and special characters. Columns in your import file that have no equivalent in Inxmail will not be imported.

CSV formatting
Specify how your import file is formatted
-
Character set encoding: Select the character set encoding of your CSV file. This ensures that Inxmail displays all your characters and special characters correctly.
-
Text qualifier: Select the character that identifies a text field that belongs together.
Example: "Double quotation marks" as a text qualifier reads "Freiburg, Germany" as a single text field. The comma is not inadvertently interpreted as a separator.
-
Text qualifier masking: Select a character that invalidates a text qualifier character so that it is displayed as a normal character.
Example: "Double text qualifier" reads ""quotation marks"" as "quotation marks".
-
Separator: Select the separator with which your CSV files separate individual cells from each other.
