Mapping Facebook form fields to Inxmail Professional recipient columns
Transferring email addresses
Correctly transferring the email address to Inxmail Professional is a basic requirement for the Facebook Lead Ad to work. Proceed as follows:
Step by step
-
In the Create form dialog box, open the Questions section under the Content tab.
-
Check if there is a question for the email address. Add a question about the e-mail address if it is missing.
-
Switch to the Settings tab. Open the Field names section there.
-
Make sure that the email value is entered as the field name.
-
You have configured the settings for correct transfer of the email address.
Transferring other attributes
You can transfer other personal data about your recipients from Facebook to Inxmail Professional. To do this, assign the field names of the form to recipient columns in Inxmail Professional.
The attribute mapping is carried out in the Create form dialog box, Settings tab, Field names section.
The following is an example of attribute mapping:
Assign a column name in Inxmail Professional to each Facebook form ID (such as the user’s gender or surname). The editable fields are pre-completed with standard names.
Note: Leave the value of the field name for the email address unchanged. The field name for the email address must be email in order for the automatic transfer of a lead to Inxmail Professional to function.
You must first create the Inxmail Professional columns before you can map attributes.
Transfer the Lead Ad ID to Inxmail Professional if you want to know which Facebook Ad your current lead is coming from: Create a Text column called fb ad id in Inxmail Professional. As soon as the recipient registers for a newsletter by clicking on a Facebook lead ad, the lead ad ID is written to the fb ad id column in Inxmail Professional.
You can transfer tracking parameters via hidden fields, and thus, for example, transfer the campaign affiliation (utm_campaign) or the medium (utm_medium) to Inxmail Professional. Hidden Fields are submitted in the background, i.e. they are not displayed in the form that users see when they submit their data.
The attribute mapping for tracking parameters is set up in the same place as the mapping for field names: In the Create form dialog box, Settings tab, Tracking parameters section.
By default, all Facebook leads are transferred to a specific Inxmail Professional mailing list that you communicated to Inxmail when you initially set up the Facebook Lead Ads integration.
You can enter another Inxmail Professional mailing list in your ad form. This list applies to all Facebook Lead Ads that use the current form. In the Create form dialog, Settings tab, Tracking Parameters section, enter the inxListId parameter and the ID of your mailing list as the value.
The information is transferred to Inxmail Professional via hidden field, i.e. it is not displayed in the form that users see when they send their data.
How do I know the ID of my mailing list? You can find the ID of your mailing list in the list overview in Inxmail Professional within the list details, see Calling up the ID of a mailing list.
Leads from ads based on other forms for which you have not explicitly defined a mailing list will still go to the default mailing list. The same applies to leads for which an incorrect or non-existent list ID is stored in the ad form.
