‘Confirm unsubscribe’ Web page

Recipients usually use the unsubscribe link in your newsletter to cancel their subscription. After clicking the unsubscribe link, the recipient is immediately unsubscribed from the mailing list. Further actions on the part of the recipient are not required.

Note: For the recipient to be immediately unsubscribed from the mailing list, the options Single/Confirmed opt-out (simple unsubscription) must be selected under Unsubscribe procedure in the corresponding mailing list in the Subscriptions agent. Detailed information can be found in the section Entering the ‘Confirm unsubscribe’ Web page in the Subscriptions agent.

Some email clients use programs that automatically click all links in a newsletter, in order to identify spam emails. This can result in unwanted unsubscriptions. To prevent such unwanted unsubscriptions, you can use the ‘Confirm unsubscribe’ Web page. After clicking the unsubscribe link in the newsletter, the recipient is directed to the ‘Confirm unsubscribe’ Web page where they must confirm their unsubscription by again clicking an unsubscribe button.

You can integrate the ‘Confirm unsubscribe’ Web page into your website or into a separate landing page.

Note that the ‘Confirm unsubscribe’ Web page is one of the personalised Web pages. It cannot be accessed directly, but only via a link.
