Enabling the ‘Include Tracking Permission of deleted recipients’ property: special features

Background The ‘Include Tracking Permission of deleted recipients’ property specifies whether person-based tracking is also possible for deleted recipients. This property is intended for integrators who automatically delete recipients from a mailing list after the mailing has been sent, and import them again before the next dispatch. For further details and effects, see the section Tracking permission of deleted recipients.

If you enable the Include Tracking Permission of deleted recipients advanced list property, the composition of the following target group, which is created using a condition for the Tracking permission <List name> column, changes:

  • The recipient has given permission for person-based tracking. (Target group that is used globally): Deleted recipients are included.

The following cases remain unchanged:

  • The recipient has given permission for person-based tracking. (Target group that is used for a list): Deleted recipients are not included.
  • The recipient has not given permission for person-based tracking. (Target group that is used globally or for a list): Deleted recipients are not included.

Background

  • If you enable the Include Tracking Permission of deleted recipients advanced list property, only Yes values of the Tracking permission <List name> column are stored. No values in the Tracking permission <List name> column are not explicitly saved. That is why the property has no influence on the composition of the Recipient has not given permission for person-based tracking target group.
  • Target groups that are used globally (in dynamic lists or for checking target groups in the (Global settings) tab > All recipients agent) include the deleted recipients for whom a Yes value is stored for the tracking permission of a list. These recipients are always visible in the global or dynamic recipient table, as they continue to exist globally after being deleted from a mailing list. On no account are mailings sent to recipients who are not visible in the recipient table.
  • Target groups that are used in a list generally include only those recipients who are subscribed to that list.
