Inserting the ‘Mailing opened’ target group

Apple Mail Privacy Protection: If your recipients have Apple Mail Privacy Protection enabled, the email client will automatically download all the images contained in your mailing (including tracking pixels) after they receive it. Since openings in email marketing can only be recorded indirectly through the mailing images being downloaded, manual openings cannot be recorded if they are opened at a later date.

You can use the Mailing opened? control element to configure a workflow in such a way that recipients who have opened a specific email pass through another branch of the workflow from those recipients who have not opened the email.

For example, you can resend an email with an attached invoice to a recipient who has not opened the email within a specified time period.

Prerequisites

The opening of an email can only be determined if the recipient has not enabled image blocking in their email program.

In addition, the Track openings option must be enabled in the mailing settings.

Detailed information can be found in the section Mailing settings.

Example – Workflow with resending of invoice

This example shows a workflow in which the sending of an invoice is performed again after 14 days if the recipient has not opened the first email with the invoice.

Inxmail Commerce determines the opening of the mailing that is positioned nearest above the Mailing opened? control element.
