Setting your user language

You use the user language to set the language of the user interface and the country-specific date and number formats for the respective users.

Note: You can change your user language during active operation. In other words, it is not necessary to log out and then log in again.

Step by step

To change your user language, proceed as follows:

  1. Click the user menu.

The User profile menu item is displayed.

  2. Click the User profile menu item.

    The user profile is displayed.

  3. Select the desired user language in the ‘Selected language’ list box.
  4. Click Save.
  • You have now changed your user language.

User language and workspace language

When a workspace is created, a language is also specified for the workspace. As a rule, this language should correspond to the language of the source system. This ensures that the date and number formats in the (transactional) emails are displayed in the same way as in the source system.

If you want the date and number formats to be shown with a country- and language-specific display that is different from the one set in the workspace, you can change this per mailing in the Settings workflow step under More settings > Localisation. (For more information, see Mailing settings.)

The user language is set independently from the workspace language. This means, for example, that the language for a particular user can be set to English (United States of America) and the workspace language can be set to German (Germany) at the same time. In this scenario, the date and number formats for the respective user will be shown in English in the user interface. At the same time, the date and number formats in the (transactional) emails will be displayed in German (default setting).
