Adding members to campaign

Add your campaign members. To do so, use the Manage members button in the campaign details overview or in the Campaign members topic list.

The members added are stored in Salesforce as contacts or leads. A contact or lead can be assigned as a member to any number of campaigns.

The members and their email addresses are entered as recipients in the corresponding mailing list in Inxmail Professional. This way, your mailing can be sent to the selected campaign members.

Status definitions of campaign members

Each member is added to an Inxmail Professional email campaign in Salesforce with the status New by default. The status of a campaign member applies to one campaign in each case, in other words, the same contact who is added as a member to another campaign can receive a different status. In addition, the status of a member can change after a mailing has been sent, for example, if a member has unsubscribed from a newsletter.

A range of different statuses are possible for an Inxmail Professional email campaign:

Status

Meaning

New

Default setting for all newly added campaign members.

Sent

Campaign member was successfully transferred to Inxmail Professional.

Not sent

Campaign member was not transferred to Inxmail Professional (for example, because email address was not available, was invalid or the member was unsubscribed from the newsletter).

Duplicate

If there is a campaign member in the campaign with an identical email address, the following campaign members are provided with this status and transferred to Inxmail Professional.

Opened

The campaign member has opened the mailing.

Opt-out

The campaign member unsubscribed from the newsletter using an unsubscribe link, for example.

Hard Bounced

A hard bounce occurred. In other words, the mailing could not be sent to a recipient due to a permanent error (for example, due to an incorrect email address or deleted email account).

Soft Bounced

A soft bounce occurred. In other words, the mailing list could not be sent to a recipient due to a temporary error (for example, because the target mail server could not be reached due to a recipient’s full email inbox).

Unknown Bounce

An unknown bounce occurred. In other words, the mailing could not be sent to the recipient for unknown reasons.

Illegal Value

The campaign member was not transferred because certain values are not valid (for example, an incorrect email address or the text in a column exceeds the restricted number of characters in Inxmail Professional).

Blacklist

The campaign member was not transferred because it is located on the blacklist in Inxmail Professional (for example, due to a misuse complaint). This recipient does not receive any mailings.
