Bounces and returns

All emails that have been received in Inxmail Commerce as an (automatic) response to the dispatch of a transactional email can be found under Bounces and returns.

Inxmail Commerce automatically assigns all incoming emails to the categories listed below.

Description

Hard bounce

Emails that Inxmail Commerce has interpreted as hard bounces are displayed here. Hard bounces generally exist if there are permanent errors associated with the delivery on the recipient side. This is the case with invalid email addresses, for example.

If a hard bounce occurs twice for a recipient, the recipient is included in the block list.

Soft bounce

Emails that Inxmail Commerce has interpreted as soft bounces are displayed here. Soft bounces generally exist if there are temporary errors associated with the delivery on the recipient side. This is the case with full email inboxes, for example.

Spam complaint

Emails that the recipient has marked as spam are displayed here.

Autoresponder

Automatic holiday messages, for example, are displayed here.

Blocked

Blocked recipients are displayed here. Inxmail Commerce blocks recipients after they cause two hard bounces to be triggered.

Uncategorised

All emails that Inxmail Commerce cannot assign to any of the above categories are displayed here.
